Step into The Office: An American Workplace

British comedy phenomenon The Office gets a stateside makeover in The Office: An American Workplace. It’s just as funny and hilariously cringe-worthy, but comes with an East Coast accent.

Steve Carell steps into Ricky Gervais’ shoes as the socially inept boss of a paper company, capable of turning a perfectly normal situation into the kind of awkward stand-off you’d jump into a boiling vat of acid to avoid. In the US take on the popular show, he’s called Michael Scott and works for Dunder Mifflin in Scranton, Pennsylvania.

Unlike many remakes this one doesn’t simply replicate the original, it provides an interpretation that carves its own niche in comedy history and, whisper it, might just be better than the UK original.
