Louis Theroux gets more cutting than usual in California

The modern plastic surgeon has a battery of techniques at his filleting fingertips. He can nip, tuck, suck, slice, dice and mould your stomach into a scale model of the Taj Mahal, and Louis Theroux: Under The Knife goes where other programmes might feel slightly queasy at the thought.

The intrepid presenter visits California to try to get to the bottom of the West Coast’s obsession with cosmetic surgery, meeting those lining up to go under the blade and the surgeons all to happy to oblige.

And, in an effort to really get inside his subject, or rather let his subject get inside him, Louis takes the plunge and pus himself on the surgeon’s table for a truly life-changing experience.
