Wrestlers don’t come across as the most mentally stable characters at the best of times. So to put them in a ring to fight against an equally unhinged opponent in front of thousands of screaming fans is only going to make things worse.
Perhaps this explains why, on defending his TNA World Heavyweight Championship against Booker T at Showdown: Victory Road this summer, he flipped his lid and started attacking the security and referees. The Full Metal Mayhem match, meanwhile, saw AJ Styles, Christian Cage and Rhino up against Kurt Angle and Team 3D (Brother Ray and Brother Devon). A pulsating contest was decided by a moment of brilliance: an Olympic slam from a ladder through a table.
Also performing on the night were The Latin American Xchange against Beer Money Inc in the TNA World Tag Team Championship. And the Ultimate X match was contested by Team TNA’s Kaz, Team Japan’s Nakuri Doi, Team Mexico’s Volador Jr and Team International’s Daivari.
