Great Britain dominated proceedings on day two of the BT Paralympic World Cup, claiming ten medals at the Manchester Velodrome.

Team GB claimed six golds, two silvers and two bronze medals on the cycling track and arguably the highlight of the day was a British one/two/three in the men’s 1km time trial. Darren Kenny led Rik Waddon and Simon Richardson home, before claiming gold in the 3km pursuit final.

Other success stories included Jody Cundy and Mark Bristow in the LC1/LC2/CP4 1km time trial, and Simon Jackson and Barney Storey in the B/V1 competition.

In the women’s events, Sarah Storey won the 500m time trial, while Aileen McGlynn and Vicky Blegg were victorious in the 1km time trial.

In the wheelchair basketball, Australia’s men underlined their dominance with wins against the USA and Great Britain, while the Netherlands’ women overcame team GB in their only match of the day.
