Ciao tutti! Serie A and Coppa Italia on ESPN

serie-a-1

With more European titles under their belt than any other nation, many of the world’s greatest players and some of the silkiest skills in the game, Italy has long been heralded the maestro of tactical football. And with up to three live matches a week on ESPN, you can fall in love with Serie A.

After Inter Milan clinched the Serie A Scudetto last season led by a certain Jose Mourinho, the north Italian giants re-armed with a new front line of Samuel Eto’o and Diego Milito. The move appears to be paying off with Inter setting the pace this season, but neighbours AC Milan are in the mix as well.

New manager Leonardo fought off the attentions of Chelsea to retain the services of playmaker Andrea Pirlo, and with promising forward Alexandre Pato, the trickery of Ronaldinho and new signing Klass-Jan Huntelaar, the Milanese are looking to make a monkey of the best of the rest

Not that the chasing pack is giving up, and the likes of Juventus, Roma and Napoli are determined to have a say in where the league crown comes to rest. Juve finished second in Serie A last season, but spent more than £20 million on creative Brazilian star Diego this summer to go one better, and the side from the motor city of Turin are starting to make an impression.. The Giallorossi of Rome ended a respectable sixth last term and are pushing to improve on that.

It’s all to play for and you can get your regular fix of Italian football in Serie A Weekly Round Up on ESPN Replay on Wednesdays.
