There is a reason why Manchester United have been crowned Premier League champions so many times - they win lots of matches. Here are two high-scoring wins from November, plus a selection of other entertaining games.

Manchester United 4 Hull City 3, 1 November

When Hull visited Old Trafford back in November 2008, nobody expected them to come away with a result. But they nearly did, despite finding themselves 4-1 down after an hour as goals from Bernard Mendy and Geovanni set up a tense finish.

Manchester United 5 Stoke 0, 15 November

Stoke have caused a few upsets so far this season, but they couldn’t manage one at Old Trafford back in November. Cristiano Ronaldo got the ball rolling in the third minute and after goals from Carrick, Berbatov and youngster Welbeck, the Portuguese wizard completed the rout in the last minute.

Middlesbrough 1 Bolton 3, 22 November

Two goals in the first ten minutes sent Bolton on their way to victory at the Riverside back on 22 November. The Trotters got a bit hot under the collar when Emanuel Pogatetz pulled one back for Middlesbrough, but Johan Elmander struck a minute later to seal the win.

Newcastle 2 Wigan 2, 15 November

With ten minutes to go in this game at St James’ Park in November, Wigan were 1-0 up and heading for victory. Then goals from Owen and Martins turned the game around, before Titus Bramble popped up with a dramatic last-minute equaliser to upset his old employers.

Portsmouth 3 Blackburn 2, 30 November

Blackburn looked as though they’d done enough to earn a point at Fratton Park back in November. Matt Derbyshire and Tugay cancelled out strikes from Peter Crouch and Jermain Defoe, but Sean Davis popped up with the winner with ten minutes to go, leaving Blackburn in the relegation mire.

Sunderland 1 Bolton 4, 29 November

When Djibril Cisse gave Sunderland the lead after 11 minutes against Bolton back on 29 November, few would’ve guessed at the severity of the Trotters’ backlash. Matt Taylor and Gary Cahill turned the game around within ten minutes, before Johan Elmander struck twice to heap woe on the Black Cats.

West Ham 1 Everton 3, 8 November

West Ham were 1-0 up and cruising in the second half of their game with Everton back on 8 November thanks to a goal from youngster Jack Collison. But the Toffees rallied late on with a goal from Joleon Lescott and a Louis Saha double capping a remarkable turnaround.

Chelsea 5 Sunderland 0, 1 November

Roy Keane didn’t hang around in the Sunderland hot seat for long after his side received a drubbing from Chelsea back in November. Nicolas Anelka helped himself to a hat-trick at Stamford Bridge, while Alex and Frank Lampard waded in with a goal each.
