Can Fulham tame the Tigers at Craven Cottage?

fulham-v-hull

After poor starts to the season, both Fulham and Hull enjoyed positive results before the international break. Which of the sides will continue to turn the corner at Craven Cottage? Find out live on ESPN.

Fulham were arguably the Premier League’s surprise package last year, but the early signs this season were that the Cottagers would struggle to repeat their impressive seventh-place finish. Four defeats from their opening six fixtures left Roy Hodgson’s side dangerously close to the foot of the table. But if the impressive 2-2 draw at West Ham in their last run-out is a sign of things to come, it won’t be long before the west London side find themselves in the more comfortable surroundings of mid-table.

Like Fulham, Hull haven’t enjoyed the best opening to the campaign. Four points from their opening seven games (during which they conceded 19 goals) left manager Phil Brown cursing into his hands-free microphone. But a win against Wigan in their last game showed the Tigers have the stomach for a fight. Can they get their claws out at the Cottage?

One to watch: Clint Dempsey

The magic number: 2
Hull won both of their games against Fulham last year. They followed up their season-opening 2-1 win at the KC Stadium with a 1-0 victory at Craven Cottage in March. Can they repeat that ‘double’ this term?
