It was another successful day for Great Britain on day five of the BT Paralympic World Cup in Manchester, this time in the track and field events.

Wheelchair racer David Weir took gold in the men’s T54 1500m and silver in the T54 800m, very creditable given that it was his first competitive racing of the year.

Ian Jones picked up a silver medal in the 400m and a bronze in the 100m, breaking the European record for each event.

Also victorious on Sunday were Libby Clegg, who is partially sighted, in the women’s T12 100m and Ben Rushgrove, who has cerebral palsy, in the men’s T36 100m.
