Which Mariah Carey songs will the X Factor contestants be singing tonight? We’ve got loads of the US diva’s hits on Vision MUSIC — take a look and try to match the song to the artist.
All I Want For Christmas Is You
Chubby-faced mum’s favourite Eoghan Quigg would be perfect for this cheerful Christmas classic. But those tricky top notes might finish his little throat off for good. Poor mite.
Anytime You Need A Friend
We can imagine Laura White’s commanding voice lending itself perfectly to this slow-paced, gospel-influenced number. It’s got the kind of big finish that could get even that grump Simon Cowell on his feet.
Emotions
Fast-paced pop that sees the frequency of Mariah’s voice shoot so high, the song’s allegedly able to open and close garage doors. This one’s got the ever-professional Alexendra Burke written all over it.
Hero
Don’t expect anyone to take this on solo: it belongs to the whole X Factor crew, sitting pretty at the top of the charts after the gang’s live performance two weeks ago.
Honey
JLS could pull off this sassy, sexy number in style. The video features a host of hunky tuxedoed men on jetskis: we doubt the group would do the jetskis, but we bet their fans would love to see the suits.
I’ll Be There
A big one — but already performed by Alex in X Factor’s Michael Jackson week, so unlikely to return. What a song, though.
My All
Very slow and seductive, with a definite Mediterranean vibe. As a result, this would be just perfect for Spanish siren Ruth Lorenzo. Mariah’s even got Ruth’s ‘big hair’ effect going on in the video.
Touch My Body
After Daniel Evans’ excruciating performance of Don’t Leave Me This Way last week, we wouldn’t be surprised to see Dannii get him writhing around the stage to this steamy Mariah hit. Pray it doesn’t happen.
When You Believe
Mariah’s duet with Whitney Houston is already the property of last year’s X Factor winner Leon Jackson. Hands off, kids.
I’ll Be Lovin’ U Long Time
Upbeat, uptempo R&B? Rachel Hylton needs a fast, foot-tapping number like this to pull her out of the doldrums after her bottom two performance last week.
