Meet Roary: the racing car with friends in high places

Watch Roary The Racing Car on Vision KIDS“Forget Lewis Hamilton, the motor racing sensation of the moment is a computer animated car that wears a little hat,” said The Times.

Enter Roary The Racing Car: an animated series that has quickly become must-see TV for children everywhere.

“Set among the big personalities and highly-tuned egos at the Silver Hatch race track,” said the Telegraph, “the programme centres on Roary, a novice, bright-red, single-seater racing car whose enthusiasm and curiosity often lead him into trouble.”

But it’s not just the kids that are loving Roary — their parents are watching it too.

Why? Narrated by Sir Stirling Moss, no less, and featuring the considerable voice talents of Peter Kay, Roary is children’s entertainment par excellence.

“Kay’s character Chris is a father figure to the cars and has an encyclopaedic knowledge of all things mechanical,” explained the Guardian, “but is disorganised, scatty and forgetful.”

But despite the big-name voices, the real star of the show is Roary himself.

“Underneath his bonnet beats a heart of chrome,” said the Telegraph.

Roary has become an almost-overnight sensation, helped in no small part by his creators.

Dreamed up by Keith Chapman, the man behind Bob The Builder and Fifi The Flowertots, Roary’s success has been certain from the start.

As The Times explained, Roary “secured broadcast commissions and global licensing deals even before it started full production.”
