H2O follows the adventures of three teenage girls who must keep a secret from the world.

They are magically transformed into super-powered mermaids whenever they are touched by water – from a dip in a pool down to one drop from a sprinkler.

“It’s really important that kids have an escape and can get involved in the magic,” says Claire Holt, who plays mermaid Emma with the power to turn water to ice.

“I think it’s really important for children to be able to develop their imagination.”

Filmed in stunning locations along Australia’s spectacular Gold Coast, the series opens with the girls discovering and trying to deal with their strange transformations.

They’re helped by trusted friend, Lewis — but must avoid the unwelcome attentions of bad boy Zane Bennett who is determined to expose them.
