Where In The World Is Osama Bin Laden? Vision FILM tries to find out

You will remember documentary maker Morgan Spurlock, if only because he’s so difficult to forget.
Not merely for his terrific 2004 fast food exposé Super Size Me has he become a familiar face on our screens, but also for his facial hair — a robust handlebar moustache the like of which is rarely seen without a Harley Davidson in tow.
Now he’s back with another documentary and this one, judging by its title alone, is possibly even more globally pertinent than his last.
“Morgan Spurlock decides to make the world a safer place for his unborn child”, wrote Empire magazine in explanation of its overriding theme.
“He travels to Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan and Pakistan for a showdown with the world’s worst enemy.”
It goes on to describe the film as ” a frustratingly soft documentary that would sooner teach the world to sing than get to the bottom of the Bin Laden enigma.”
Spurlock nevertheless undertakes take his task semi-seriously, not least by enduring a gruelling induction into the US marines before travelling to some of the world’s coldest hotspots and asking of all those he encounters along the way where on earth the man could be.
“Though entertaining, Spurlock’s light-hearted approach doesn’t work as well here [as in Super Size Me],” wrote USA Today.
“Given the fraught nature of the US/Middle East relations and the war on terrorism, Spurlock is understandably in over his head”, it continues, before deciding: “he is a genial host whose message urges cultural understanding.”
