Get set for an all-out action-fest with this week’s new movie additions to your Vision Film Club entertainment library, brought to you by WarnerFilms.
Batman: Perhaps the most influential movie ever adapted from a comic. Tim Burton’s Batman broke the mould with supremely clever casting (including Jack Nicholson as The Joker and Kim Basinger as the lovely Vicki Vale); spine-straightening special effects; and a perfect plot. For a more recent take on the legend, catch Christian Bale in Batman Begins, on Vision Box Office until 25 March.
Some of the other action movies new to Vision Film Club this week include:
Last Man Standing – gun-slinging greatness about gang wars in a Prohibition-era, Texan ghost town. Bruce Willis takes on the rootin’ tootin’ lead role.
Training Day – Denzel Washington turns in an Oscar-winning performance as a drugs cop on the mean streets of Los Angeles.
Demolition Man – A cryogenically-frozen cop (Sly Stallone) must rid the year 2032 of violent crime, in this action comedy with sharp satirical bite.
Also, don’t miss:
Space Cowboys – Four ageing astronauts rocket out of retirement in order to save the planet from a surprise Soviet threat.
Licence To Wed – Robin Williams splits sides as maverick minister Reverend Frank, in this comedy about a couple on a problematical prenuptial course.
