From early September 2008, you can experience movies in glorious high definition (HD). A selection of the best new releases and greatest classic titles are available for you to download, with fantastic picture quality and Dolby 5.1 Surround Sound.

Films include The Incredible Hulk, Nim’s Island and Step Up 2 The Streets. Look for the HD logo (right) on the website and you’ll keep up to date with all the latest films available in high definition. New releases in HD are £4.84 per download, while library titles are just £2.88.

Simple to watch

It’s easy to find HD films on your V-box™, too – just look for the titles that have the letters ‘HD’ at the end. There’s a full list in Film > Browse Vision Film > HD, or press the Blue Button on your remote control and search for ‘HD’.

Your existing V-box™ is already configured for HD so there’s no need for a hardware upgrade. You will need new software – but we’ll download this automatically to your V-box™ through your broadband connection. We expect that all V-boxes™ will be updated by the end of August 2008.

Because our HD movies are encoded at 1080i resolution for the best possible viewing experience, you’ll need an HD-ready TV to be able to view them, and an HDMI cable to connect your V-box™ to your TV. If you are currently connecting your V-box™ to your TV via a SCART cable, you will need to replace this with an HDMI cable, as SCART is not HD compatible.
