Colin Farrell is In Bruges on Vision FILM

“Like its characters,” said Empire magazine of Colin Farrell’s latest, “In Bruges is unruly, foul-mouthed, has a weird sense of humour and no concept of good behaviour.”
“But even if those caveats whet your appetite, there is another hurdle to overcome: the dreaded phrase ‘British gangster movie.’”
But from such inauspicious beginnings do unexpectedly great things grow. In Bruges is a British gangster movie with a difference.
For starters, it’s set in Belgium, and it centres on a couple of hit men, Ray and Ken (Farrell and Brendan Gleeson), taking some time out in the quaint Flemish city.
But these are men haunted by violence and bloodshed, and Bruges gradually reveals itself to be an unexpected den of iniquity for the both of them.
“It’s a strange film,” continued Empire. “Going into it, there are all kinds of questions you might be asking yourself: isn’t this just Sexy Beast meets Pulp Fiction?”
Instead, In Bruges is something of a unique entity, a gangster film full of danger and tension, yes, but also plenty of soul-searching, dwarf American actors and, ultimately, even a little romance.
“Make no mistake: Colin Farrell has brought his A-game to this cracking little comedy-noir,” raved the Guardian.
“He is absolutely superb: moody and funny, lethally sexy, sometimes heartbreakingly sad and vulnerable like a little boy. He radiates star quality.”
As does this wonderfully entertaining film.
