Real fun in Real Steel

BOXING GETS a futuristic sci-fi makeover in the Oscar-nominated robotic romp, Real Steel, available on Box Office now.

Having sunk his claws into the character of X-Men‘s Wolverine, Hugh Jackman plays a less-than-super hero in Real Steel – a washed-up pugilist who makes ends meet on the illegal cyborg sparring circuit. That is, until he turns a discarded robot into a bona fide champion, bringing him closer to his estranged son in the process.

Disney’s punch-packed family caper has been nominated for the Visual Effects prize at this year’s Academy Awards, and will have kids of all ages rooting for the underdog in true Hollywood style.

And for Jackman fans, we’ve an added bonus: click play on our exclusive video interview with Real Steel’s leading light and the film’s director Shawn Levy, above, to find out about their film, TV and musical influences (not to mention Aussie Hugh’s thoughts on the dwindling fortunes of his nation’s cricket team).

Real Steel is £4 for 48 hours (£5 for HD) in Vision Box Office
